Wassail should be on everyone's holiday beverage list! Easy to make and perfect for holiday parties, you'll be the star of the show with how it tastes AND smells!

Ingredients
- 2 small apples
- 1 tablespoon whole cloves
- 8 cups apple cider
- 1 cup orange juice
- 3 whole star anise
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons honey
- brandy or grand marnier

Instructions
- Press the whole cloves into the whole apples. Add them to a large Dutch oven or pot and place it over low heat.
- Add the apple cider, orange juice, star anise cinnamon sticks, giner, nutmeg and honey, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to marry for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally and never bring above a low simmer (ideally not even a simmer!).
- When ready to serve, ladle into large mugs and top with a slice of fresh orange and if desired, a shot of your desired alcohol.

- You can also make this in a crock pot for parties. Use the "servings tool" to increase the servings and keep use the "keep warm setting". Ladle into cups.
