Yuenyueng (Hong Kong Coffee Tea Drink)
Description
Yuenyueng (Hong Kong Coffee Tea Drink) is a beverage made by mixing brewed coffee with traditional Hong Kong milk tea. The recipe calls for cooling the milk tea in advance if making iced, combining measured amounts of coffee and chilled tea over ice, and adding condensed milk optionally to adjust sweetness and richness.
The hot version simply combines hot coffee and hot Hong Kong milk tea with the same option for condensed milk, resulting in a warm, comforting drink that balances the robustness of coffee with the creamy, smooth texture of milk tea.
Stirring before drinking ensures the flavors meld evenly, and serving it with a straw when iced enhances the drinking experience. This drink highlights a unique fusion of coffee and tea cultures typical in Hong Kong.
