Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, Greek yogurt, and eggs with a spatula, making sure all the flour is incorporated. You will be left with a sticky dough.
- Turn the dough onto a heavily floured surface (you can use all-purpose for this). The dough will be very sticky, so also coat your hands in flour and knead the dough until you are left with a smooth ball.
- Separate the ball of dough in half then each half into quarters.
- Roll each piece of dough in your palm until a smooth ball forms.
- Poke your thumb into the centers to hollow it out.
- Place each shaped bagel on the prepared baking sheet then either lightly coat with oil or an egg wash (recipe in notes below).
- Top with your favorite bagel toppings or leave plain. It’s up to you!
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bagels are golden brown.
- Let bagels cool, and then enjoy toasted or just as is!
Notes
- Flour: It's important to use self-rising flour because it contains baking powder and salt.
- Greek yogurt: Plain, nonfat Greek yogurt works well. However, you could also use 2% or whole milk Greek yogurt.
- Egg wash: To make a simple egg wash, stir together 1 large egg and 1 tablespoon milk. Brush this mixture on the bagels in step 7 before baking.
