Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 2 ½ cups homemade Bisquick mix divided use
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup 7up or Sprite
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Place butter in an 8x8-inch pan. Place pan in the oven to let the butter melt while the oven is preheating, about 3-5 minutes. Make sure to pull the pan from the oven once the butter is melted so it does not brown.
- In a large bowl, add 2 ¼ cups of the baking mix and the sour cream. Use a pastry blender, a fork, or two knives to cut the sour cream into the baking mix until the sour cream is well distributed and the mixture is shaggy.
- Stir in the 7UP or Sprite. The dough will be sticky.
- Sprinkle a clean work surface with half of the remaining baking mix. Turn the dough out onto the work surface and sprinkle the top of the dough with the remaining mix.
- Using your hands, pat the dough into a square roughly 6x6 inches. Use a floured dough blade, pizza cutter, or knife to cut the dough into 9 squares.
- Place the dough squares in the pan on top of the melted butter. Bake at 425°F for 15-16 minutes, or until the tops are golden.
Notes
- Adapted from the 7UP website.
