Instructions

  1. Prep the dough: Separate the biscuits form the can and roll each one into a 4 inch circle using a rolling pin. If using grand biscuits, pull each one into 2 layers.
  2. Prep the bombs: Spoon 1 tbsp of apple pie filling into each dough circle then pull the sides together over the filling, pinching to seal. Gently roll into a ball. Place the apple pie bombs into the basket of your air fryer about 1 inch apart. You'll need to do this in batches.
  3. Bake 'em: Close your air fryer oven door and set the temperature to 380°F. Bake until golden brown, about 5-6 minutes.
  4. Prep the topping: While the first batch bakes, combine the sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  5. Continue baking: Carefully transfer the cooked apple pie bombs to a cooling rack and repeat baking with remaining pies.
  6. Roll through butter and cinnamon sugar: While the pies are still hot, dip them in the melted butter so that they're fully coated, then roll them into the cinnamon sugar. Place them back on the cooling rack and repeat with remaining bombs.
  7. Serve: Serve them by themselves or with a scoop of ice cream.

Notes

  • My air fryer doesn't require pre-heating, so please read your air fryer's manual to see if preheating is required.
  • Be sure you completely seal up the apple pie filling. If you have any sort of opening you will have apple pie filling leaking everywhere.
  • Keep in mind that Air Fryers vary in cooking temperatures. I used here the average directions for most Air Fryers.
  • If you don't have an air fryer you can also bake these at 375°F for about 15 to 17 minutes.
  • Store these apple pie bombs in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the refrigerator.
