Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the eggs, apple juice, and vanilla extract.
- Whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until well combined.
- Preheat the air fryer to 340 degrees F / 170 degrees C and scoop cookie dough onto a parchment-lined air fryer tray.
- Air fry the cookies for 8 minutes until lightly golden brown. Remove and transfer to a wire baking rack to cool.
- Make the frosting by beating together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Once cookies are cool, spread cream cheese frosting on top, then drizzle caramel over the frosting and sprinkle with chopped green apples.
Notes
- Ensure the butter is softened to room temperature for easier creaming.
- Don't overmix! Once the dry ingredients are added, mix until just combined.
- Be sure to preheat the air fryer for best results.
- Lining the air fryer basket with parchment paper not only prevents cookies from sticking, it also makes cleanup a breeze.
- Air fryer temperatures can vary depending on the make and model. I recommend starting with less time, checking food for doneness, and then adding more time as needed.
- Adjust the amount of powdered sugar in the frosting to achieve your desired sweetness and consistency.
- Drizzle on the caramel sauce just before serving so they don't become too sticky.
- Experiment with different types of apples for varying flavor and texture.
- Storage - keep in an airtight container inside the fridge for up to 3 days.
