Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds mahi mahi
- 2 tablespoons oil
- ½ cup Panko bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 8 tortillas
- your favorite taco toppings
For the salsa:
- 1 Mango
- 2 tablespoons cilantro
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- ½ garlic clove minced
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer at 400 degrees F for 3 minutes.
- Mix the chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Pat the fish dry with a paper towel. Brush the fillet with oil and dip it in the panko bread crumbs.
- Put the fish in the air fryer basket and sprinkle the spice mixture on top.
- Air fry at 400 degrees F for 8-12 minutes until the fish reaches 140 degrees F internally.
- While the fish cooks, dice the mango and combine it with the cilantro, lime juice, and minced garlic.
- Once the fish is cooked, flake it with a fork and add it to the tortillas. Top with mango salsa and any other toppings you like, such as sour cream, lime wedges, or jalapenos.
Notes
- While this recipe calls for mahi mahi, you can use any firm white fish, like cod or halibut.
- Make sure you pat the fish dry with paper towels so the coating sticks.
- Leave some space between the fish pieces in your air fryer basket. When I try to cook too much at once, the pieces don't get that nice golden-brown crust.
- Start checking the internal temperature for around 10 minutes. Different air fryers can cook at slightly different rates.
- For the best taco experience, warm your tortillas briefly in the microwave or in a dry skillet. I like wrapping them in slightly damp paper towels and microwaving them for 30 seconds.
