Instructions
- Wash the green and yellow beans, but don’t dry them. If they are somewhat damp the flour will stick to them better.
- Get three shallow bowls. Place the flour in one and the beaten eggs in another. Finally, combine the panko breadcrumbs and grated parmesan in a third bowl, along with the salt and pepper. Stir to mix it all together.
- Pick up a bean and dip it the flour. Then dip it into the bowl of eggs, and finally dip in the panko breading mix. Put the breaded green beans on a cutting board.
- Repeat with the rest of the string beans.
- Preheat the air fryer at 380 degrees F for 3 minutes. Then put the beans in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You will have to make this recipe in 2-3 batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Air fry at 380 ˚F for 10 minutes. Half way through pull out the basket and flip the beans or shake it.
- Serve right away with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- The air fried green beans will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4 days. They don't freeze well.
- To reheat the leftover fried beans place them in the air fryer and cook at 350 ˚F for 3 minutes.
- When dipping the beans use just one hand for the dipping so you have one wet hand and one dry hand. It will be less messy that way!
- If you want to make your green bean fries extra crispy you can spray the beans with cooking spray before air frying them. I don't think it is necessary, but oil will make them crispier. Use a spray bottle of olive oil, not a commercial cooking spray.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and put the breaded beans on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Spray the beans with a little bit of cooking oil.
