Amish Broccoli Salad Recipe

In this delicious Amish Broccoli Salad, raw broccoli and cauliflower are coated with a creamy dressing with cheese and bacon on top.

Ingredients

  • 1 head broccoli
  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 8 lices Bacon cooked

Instructions

  1. Dice the broccoli and cauliflower into bite-size pieces and combine them in a large bowl.
  2. Mix the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, and salt in a separate bowl. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Pour the dressing over the veggies and stir to coat them thoroughly with the mixture. Add the cheese and stir to mix.
  4. Refrigerate for about an hour before serving. This allows the flavors to blend together.
  5. Crumble the bacon and add it right before serving, so it stays crispy.

  • Keep the size of the cauliflower or broccoli florets manageable.
  • The sweetness of the salad is one of its defining characteristics. But if you aren't a fan of a sweeter dressing, reduce the amount of sugar to 1/4 cup.
