Apple Pie Pancakes

Delicious pancakes with shredded apples and spices.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 3/4 cup white flour
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/8 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup shredded apple
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves

Instructions

  1. Whisk together your dry ingredients in a large bowl. 
  2. In another bowl, mix the egg, milk, vanilla and apples all together. 
  3. If you haven't already, get your griddle preheating at this point. 
  4. Make a well into the dry ingredients and pour the wet mixture in. Mix them together until they are just combined and they are ready to go! 
  5. These pancakes do take a little work to be spread out to cook, but it's worth it in the end. They will bubble a little bit on top like normal pancakes, but that's not how you can tell they are done. Watch for the edges to look cooked, and then that's when to flip.
