Avocado Chutney Sandwich
Description
This sandwich starts by spreading cream cheese evenly on bread slices, which can be omitted for a vegan version. Over the cream cheese, a layer of green mint cilantro chutney is spread, lending a fresh and herbaceous flavor. Peeled and pitted avocado is sliced and arranged evenly on top, providing creamy texture and mild richness. Seasonings such as chaat masala, salt, and freshly ground black pepper are sprinkled for enhanced complexity.
The sandwich can be enjoyed as is, offering cool and creamy contrasts along with herbal brightness. For a grilled version, the sandwich is buttered on both sides and cooked in a skillet or grill until brown and crisp. Cheese slices may be added before grilling to create a melty component.
The sandwich lends itself well to added vegetables like spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, red onions, or alfalfa sprouts, making it versatile for a quick lunch or snack with fresh, layered flavors.
