Ingredients
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cayenne
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 12 ounces sliced bacon
- 1 package beef cocktail wieners (Little Smokies) 14 ounces
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- In a large bowl, mix together brown sugar, cayenne, and black pepper.
- Cut bacon into thirds, so each slice of bacon is now 3 equal pieces. Separate the pieces and add to the bowl.
- Using tongs or your hands, toss the bacon in the sugar mixture until evenly coated.
- Wrap each cocktail wiener with a piece of the coated bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on the lined baking sheet and repeat until all the bacon is used.
- Bake for 40 minutes, until bacon is crisp and sugar is bubbly. Serve immediately or place in a slow cooker set on warm to keep warm.
Notes
- Parchment does work better for not sticking than foil, but foil works fine if you don’t have any parchment.
- These reheat well in the microwave.
- Depending on the brand, the cocktail wieners may be called Little Smokies, Li’l Smokies, or Lit’l Smokies
