Ingredients
- 8 to 12 ounces brie (see note 1)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh thyme
- Crostini or crackers, for serving (see note 2)
- Fresh fruit for serving (see note 3)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a pie pan or baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place unwrapped brie into prepared dish. Drizzle with olive oil and top with minced thyme.
- Bake until middle is soft and liquid feeling, about 10 to 15 minutes. Serve immediately with sliced baguette or crackers.
Notes
- Brie: This recipe is designed to feature an 8 to 12-ounce wheel of brie. You might find brie sold in larger portions up to 17 inches. Cut larger wheels into quarters before baking, follow the same instructions below, and bake until cheese begins to ooze.
- Crostini: To transform store-bought or homemade baguette into crostini, cut the bread into 1/4-inch slices. On a rimmed baking sheet, arrange the pieces of bread in a single layer, then brush with olive oil or melted butter. Bake in a 350-degree oven until lightly toasted, or for about 15 minutes.
- Fresh fruit: A pile of fresh fruit adds color to the plate and helps cut through the richness of the cheese. Not sure what fruit to add? See what's in season and go from there. Dried fruit and toasted nuts are also good choices for Baked Brie.
- Yield: This Baked Brie recipe makes 6 to 8 appetizer-sized servings.
- Storage: Transfer any extra Baked Brie (if you’re lucky enough to have some) to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
