Ingredients
Banana Bread Bars:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter , softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups bananas , very ripe and mashed (about 3 bananas)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup sour cream
Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 4 ounces cream cheese , softened
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter , softened
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
Banana Bread Bars:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with baking spray or line with parchment paper.
- To your stand mixer add the butter and sugar and beat until light and fluffy, 2-3 minutes.
- Add in the eggs, bananas, and vanilla and beat until smooth.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Add to the stand mixer on the lowest speed setting until just combined.
- Add in sour cream and beat until smooth.
- Pour into baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the bars are cooling, make the frosting.
Cream Cheese Frosting:
- Add the cream cheese, butter, sour cream, and vanilla to a stand mixer and beat until light and fluffy.
- Add in the powdered sugar one cup at a time until smooth and incorporated.
