Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the pork chops.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for the homemade barbecue sauce until well combined. Set aside.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned pork chops and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the homemade barbecue sauce over the pork chops. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F) and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  5. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the pork chops rest in the sauce for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Serve the pork chops hot, with extra sauce spooned over the top.

Notes

  • I would probably do around 6 ounce chops. If you do thicker, you will need to adjust the cooking times.
  • The homemade barbecue sauce can be made in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • If you like your barbecue sauce spicier, add a dash of hot sauce to the mixture.
  • Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
