Beef and Broccoli Noodles

  • 8 ounces Lo Mein Noodles
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • crushed red pepper flakes to taste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger minced
  • 1 pound flank steak thinly sliced
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • sesame seeds for garnish
  • green onions chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook lo mein noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, beef broth, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, honey, cornstarch, and sesame oil until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 1 minute.
  4. Add the sliced flank steak and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes. Add broccoli florets and continue to cook until they are bright green and tender, about 4 minutes.
  5. Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, stirring until the sauce thickens and everything is well coated.
  6. Add the cooked noodles, toss everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
