Brown Rice Cakes Recipe

These Brown Rice Cakes are made from uncooked brown rice blended with egg, flour, and salt to form a batter that's baked until crispy. The result is a set of crispy rice-based cakes with a tender interior that can be customized by adding herbs, spices, or cheese to suit personal tastes. They provide a grain-focused snack or side dish option with a simple ingredient list.

Description

The Brown Rice Cakes recipe starts with uncooked brown rice combined with water, egg, all-purpose or gluten-free flour, and salt. The ingredients are blended until the rice is pulverized and the mixture becomes liquid, ensuring a uniform batter. This batter is then poured into a greased or silicone molded baking pan and baked at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until the cakes develop a crispy exterior, usually between 20 to 30 minutes.

The cakes offer a crunchy texture on the outside with a softer, rice-based center. Their neutral flavor allows for versatility, as you can easily incorporate your favorite herbs, spices, or cheeses into the batter before baking to adjust the taste profile.

These rice cakes can be served as a gluten-free snack, side dish, or even a light meal component. Their baking method provides an easy way to enjoy brown rice in a different texture and form.
