Ingredients
- 1 box brownie mix around 18-20 oz of your favorite brownie mix (just the dry mix)
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened (see notes)
- 8 ounces whipped topping also known as whipped topping, thawed (see notes)
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet, milk chocolate, or dark - more or less depending on your preference
Instructions
Heat Treat the Brownie Mix
- Microwave the brownie mix in a bowl for 90 seconds, whisking every 15 seconds. Or, spread it on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 5 minutes.
Get prepped
- Thaw the cool whip.
- Remove the cream cheese from the refrigerator and allow it to soften at room temperature.
Make the base
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it's smooth and creamy.
- Gradually incorporate the dry brownie mix into the cream cheese, continuing to beat until well combined.
Add Cool Whip
- Carefully fold in the thawed Cool Whip, ensuring the mixture is even in consistency.
Fold in Chocolate Chips
- Add the chocolate chips (using more or less depending on your preference) folding them into the mixture so they're evenly distributed.
- Check for consistency and taste
- If you find the dip to be too thick, add a splash of milk or cream to achieve your desired consistency.
- If you want the dip to be sweeter, mix in some powdered sugar a little at a time, tasting as you go until you reach your desired level of sweetness.
Chill
- While this dip can be eaten right away, chilling it in the refrigerator for an hour or more will allow the flavors to meld and will give the dip a firmer texture.
Serve
- Pair the dip with your preferred dippers like pretzels, strawberries, graham crackers, vanilla wafers.

Notes
- Thawing Cool Whip: If you move it from the freezer to the refrigerator, it might take 4-5 hours or overnight. For quicker thawing, you can leave it on the countertop for about an hour. Softening Cream Cheese: This usually takes about 30-60 minutes at room temperature.
