Chipotle Chili Pepper Powder

This homemade dried chipotle pepper powder is so easy to make and is an excellent addition to all your Mexican and Tex-Mex foods.

Ingredients
- 4 chipotle peppers
- 1 cup dried chipotle pepper slices or flakes or 4 smoked

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200ºF if baking otherwise get your smoker ready.
- Cut the ends off of each chipotle pepper.
- Slice peppers crosswise into ⅛-inch slices.
Baked
- Place slices on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 2 hours or until hard and dried.
Smoked
- Follow our how to smoke jalapenos recipe.
Process
- Place dried slices in a spice grinder or coffee grinder.
- Grind until a fine powder.
- Store in an airtight container. Serve as needed.
Notes
- Wash your hands after working with hot peppers.
- Never touch your face when working with hot peppers.
