Chocolate Orange Ice Cream

An indulgent no-churn ice cream made with condensed milk, this Chocolate Orange Ice Cream uses Terry's chocolate orange to create a fantastic frozen treat that will do down a treat all year round. It's extremely rich and scrumptious, with a wonderful orange aroma that comes through so nicely. So easy to make with only a handful of ingredients!

Instructions

  1. Add the cream to a large bowl and use a hand mixer to beat it until creamy.
  2. Add the sweetened condensed milk and beat again to get a smooth and shiny texture.
  3. Sift in the cocoa powder, and beat again.
  4. Add the orange extract, half of the orange zest and grate in 6 segments of the chocolate orange.
  5. Mix well to incorporate all the ingredients.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a loaf tin, and grate 4 segments of the chocolate orange over the top, and sprinkle the rest of the orange zest.
  7. Freeze for at least 6 hours.

Notes

  • No churn ice creams made with condensed milk and cream and pretty much foolproof, there is very little that could go wrong. The amount of sweetened condensed milk used can vary according to one's taste buds, if you like it sweeter, feel free to add more.
  • Likewise, for a less sweet variation, add less sweetened condensed milk. Also bear in mind that the Terry's chocolate orange is pretty sweet as it is, so the ice cream will be on the sweet side anyway.
  • You don't need to use a whole Terry's chocolate orange for this ice cream, you can use as many segments as you like, it' up to you. I used 6 segments to grate in the ice cream, and 4 to decorate.
