Chow Mein, Hamburger Rice Hotdish (Casserole)

Rich & creamy, this Hamburger Rice Hot Dish is flavored with soy & garlic & topped with Chow Mein Noodles. A vintage casserole at its best!

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 stalks celery chopped
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1/2 cup cashews divided
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 5 ounces Chow Mein noodles

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F
- In a large skillet or saucepan, brown the ground beef until cooked through, about 10 minutes. Add the onion and celery and saute for another 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
- Stir in the rice, soup, water, soy sauce and half of the cashews (1/4 cup) and mix until well combined.
- Place this into a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish or deep round casserole dish. Top with chow mein noodles and remaining nuts.
- Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes.
