Ingredients
Cinnamon Roll Mug Cake
- 2 tablespoons applesauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon milk or buttermilk
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ tablespoons light brown sugar packed
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
Cream Cheese Icing
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon cream cheese softened
- 1 teaspoon milk
Instructions
Cinnamon Roll Mug Cake
- Add the applesauce, oil, milk, vanilla, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, nutmeg (if using), and salt to a 10 to 12-ounce mug.
- Mix everything together with a fork until combined and nearly smooth.
- Microwave on high power for 1 minute. Then, check the cake for doneness. If it's not fully cooked, microwave for an additional 15 seconds.
Cream Cheese Icing
- While the mug cake cooks, in a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk together with a fork until smooth.
- Transfer the icing to a Ziploc and cut a small corner off the bag.
- Take the mug cake out of the microwave and pipe the icing on in a spiral design. Serve warm.
