Cinnamon Tortilla Chips

Buttery, crunchy, and sweet from plenty of cinnamon sugar, these cinnamon tortilla chips are the perfect partner for summery fruit salsa, ice cream, or any sweet dip.

Ingredients

  • 5 8-inch taco-size flour tortillas
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • Heaping ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions

  1. Using a large knife or a pizza cutter, cut all of the tortillas into 8 even triangles. Separate the pieces if needed and add to a large bowl.
  2. Stir together the sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Drizzle the melted butter over the tortilla pieces in the bowl, tossing to coat. Add as much of the cinnamon sugar mixture as desired, tossing to evenly distribute.
  4. Preheat an air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes. Once preheated, add the tortilla pieces, working in batches if needed based on the size of your air fryer. Air fry at 350°F for 12-15 minutes, tossing every few minutes, until the chips are golden brown. 
  5. Spread chips onto a baking sheet to cool. Chips will crisp as they cool. If working in batches, continue air frying until all of the chips are done.
  6. Serve with fruit salsa or ice cream.

Notes

  • Makes 40 chips.
  • Store any leftover cinnamon sugar in an airtight container in the pantry indefinitely. Use for more cinnamon tortilla chips, for making cinnamon toast, or numerous other delicious uses.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled for a party. Just be sure to work in batches when cooking the chips.
  • To bake the tortilla chips, place in a single layer on a large baking sheet and bake at 375°F for about 10 minutes, flipping halfway through. Chips will crisp as they cool.
