Easy cottage pie recipe with hearty ground beef, mixed veggies & creamy mashed potatoes. The perfect comfort food.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion diced
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables peas, carrots, corn
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 3 cups prepared mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease. 1 pound ground beef, 1 onion
- Add the diced carrots, corn, frozen peas, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper to the skillet; Stir. 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Pour in the beef broth and tomato paste and stir everything together until well combined. 1 cup beef broth, 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Spread the beef mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch deep pie dish or square baking pan.
- Spoon the mashed potatoes on top of the beef mixture and spread them evenly. 3 cups prepared mashed potatoes
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the mashed potatoes. 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
