Cream of Mushroom Pork Chops Recipe

Pork Chops

  • 4 pork chops 1-inch thick, bone-in
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Cream Of Mushroom Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 ounces mushrooms sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • thyme optional, fresh
  • parsley optional, fresh

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season with salt & pepper.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and cook for about 4-6 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer the pork chops to a plate.
  3. Melt the butter in the same skillet and add the mushrooms and garlic. Cook for about 3-5 minutes until the mushrooms have browned.
  4. Add the chicken broth, heavy cream, and flour. Cook, stirring, for about 4-5 minutes until the sauce has thickened. Place the pork chops back in the skillet and heat for a couple of minutes.
  5. Serve garnished with fresh parsley and thyme if desired.
