Creamy Italian Salad Dressing - great with Pizza!
Description
The dressing begins with a base of mayonnaise for creaminess, combined with acidic white wine vinegar and a small amount of water to thin the texture. Caster sugar balances the acidity with a subtle sweetness. Dried parsley and oregano introduce savory herbaceous notes that complement the tang of Dijon mustard and the umami from Worcestershire sauce. Freshly ground salt and black pepper round out the flavor profile.
Whisking all the ingredients together creates a unified, creamy dressing with balanced flavors and a smooth consistency suitable for salads. It can also be used as a dipping sauce or drizzled over pizza to add flavor contrast.
Any leftover dressing should be stored covered in the refrigerator and consumed within a few days for freshness. The straightforward preparation means it can be made quickly before meals or in larger batches for convenience.
