Creamy One-Pot Tortellini
Description
The recipe starts by browning smoked sausage in a large skillet to develop a slight crispness and rich flavor, followed by sautéing minced garlic to add aroma. Broccoli florets, frozen or fresh, are added along with frozen tortellini, canned diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, and Italian herbs basil and oregano. The mixture simmers until the broccoli is tender and tortellini cooked through. Parmesan cheese and cream cheese are folded in last to melt and create a smooth, creamy sauce that clings to the components. Salt and pepper finish the seasoning.
The creamy texture from the cheeses contrasts with the tomato and herb tang while the smoked sausage introduces a savory depth. This dish can be served as a standalone meal, providing protein, vegetables, and pasta in one pan. It requires minimal cleanup and straightforward preparation, making it practical for busy cooking times.
