Creamy Tuscan Sausage Pasta

Creamy Tuscan Sausage Pasta combines browned ground sausage with a rich sauce of heavy cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, and Parmesan. Sun-dried tomatoes and chopped spinach add color and texture while infusing the sauce with savory and slightly tangy notes. The sauce thickens as it simmers, coating penne pasta for a satisfying, hearty dish that blends creamy, meaty, and fresh flavors.

Description

This pasta recipe begins by cooking penne pasta until al dente. Ground sausage is browned and crumbled, serving as the savory protein base. The sauce is made by whisking heavy cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese in a skillet until it thickens. Adding chopped spinach and sun-dried tomatoes softens the greens and imbues the sauce with sweet, tangy flavor.

The cooked sausage is returned to the pan, and drained pasta is combined until fully coated. The result is a creamy, flavorful pasta dish with tender bites of sausage and bursts of tomato and spinach. The richness from cream and cheese balances the deeply flavored sausage, making it a filling meal.

The recipe was originally posted in February 2021 and updated in March 2023, indicating ongoing refinement.
