Ingredients

  • 2 bagel
  • 2 tablespoons butter room temperature, unsalted
  • 1/4 cup fromage blanc room temperature
  • 1 heirloom tomato cut into 8 slices, large or 2 medium, ripe
  • salt sea salt; freshly ground black pepper
  • black pepper sea salt; freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 basil leaves small
  • olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Slice each bagel in half and arrange cut side up on baking sheet. Toast under the broiler in the oven or in a toaster until golden.
  2. Immediately spread butter on each cut half, then cover with fromage blanc.
  3. Arrange two tomato slices on top, then sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. Top with basil leaves, drizzle with olive oil, and serve immediately.
