Date Snickers Recipe

Date Snickers taste like the popular candy bar and can be assembled in just minutes! They are the perfect way to satisfy a sweet craving.

  • 9 quishy Medjool dates
  • 3 tablespoons peanut butter (or other nut butter)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped peanuts
  • ¼ cup dark chocolate chips
  • Flaky sea salt (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Use your fingers to split each date in half and remove the pit in the center. If you prefer, you can use a knife to carefully cut them in half. Arrange the date halves cut-side up on a plate lined with parchment paper.
  2. Add roughly a ½ teaspoon of peanut butter to the center of each date half. Then sprinkle the chopped peanuts on top so that each piece will have some crunch.
  3. Melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler (or in the microwave) until smooth. To make a double boiler, add an inch of water to a small saucepan and bring that to a boil on the stovetop. Place a heat-safe bowl snugly over the top of the pan and add the chocolate chips. Stir until the steam melts the chocolate.
  4. Use a spoon to drizzle the melted chocolate over each date half. Only the top of the date needs to be coated, since the bottom will already be sweet from the date. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the top while the chocolate is still shiny.
  5. Place the plate in the fridge for 10 minutes or until the chocolate is firm. Then, these are ready to eat! Date snickers can be stored at room temperature for at least a week, or store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a month.
