Ingredients
For Crust
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (1 stick) room temperature
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For Filling
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons orange zest
- 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice about 1 orange
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Garnish
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar optional
Instructions
For Crust
- Preheat oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit
- Grease an 8×8″ baking pan and line with parchment paper. Leave enough paper so it overlaps the sides (for easy removal)
- Place the butter, flour, sugar and vanilla on a big bowl. Using a mixer, whip the ingredients until combined
- Line the bottom of the baking pan with the dough. Use your fingers to spread the crust all over the bottom
- Bake for 20 minutes or until browned
For Filling
- In a bowl place the orange juice, zest, eggs, sugar, salt and baking powder. Whisk all ingredients together until mixed
- Pour filing onto hot crust and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until filling is set
- When ready remove from the oven and let it cool. Unmold from pan, cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar
- Enjoy!
