Easy Beef Liver Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef liver thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 onion thinly sliced, medium
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil divided
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • parsley for garnish, optional, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cut the liver into thin slices and blot dry with paper towels. Sprinkle it with salt, pepper, garlic powder and smoked paprika.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring often, for about 7 minutes until golden brown and caramelized.
  3. Transfer the onions to a plate and cover with foil.
  4. Carefully wipe the skillet clean with paper towels. Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and reduce the heat to medium. Add the liver slices and cook in batches if needed.
  5. Cook the liver for about 3 minutes per side. Avoid overcooking as the liver will be tough.
  6. Serve the cooked liver topped with the sautéed onions.
