Easy Pasta Salad Recipe

Easy Pasta Salad combines cooked pasta with fresh grape tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, cheese cubes, and salami, dressed with Italian dressing and seasoning for a flavorful, chilled dish. The salad blends textures and savory flavors, suitable for picnics or casual meals.

Description

This salad features a mix of pasta shapes cooked and cooled, freshly cut vegetables and cheese, and sliced salami. Tossing these with Italian dressing and seasoning adds tang and herbaceous notes that complement the ingredients. The inclusion of a seasoning blend named Salad Supreme adds a distinctive flavor profile.

After mixing, the salad is chilled to allow flavors to meld, enhancing the overall taste. This layered combination offers a balance of soft pasta, crisp vegetables, creamy cheese, and savory meat.

Serving chilled makes it ideal for warm weather or as a side dish for gatherings. The recipe's notes include storage advice, recommending airtight refrigeration for up to 4-5 days, and suggesting making the salad the night before to deepen flavors as dressing soaks into the pasta and ingredients.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 lb pasta (rotini, penne, fusilli, or farfalle)
  • 1 pint grape tomatoes
  • 1 large cucumber Hot House or English variety
  • 1/4 cup red onion (chopped)
  • 8 ounces cheese Cheddar, Provolone, or Mozzarella, cubed
  • 6 ounces salami
  • 12 to 14 ounces Italian dressing Olive Garden brand
  • 1 to 1 1/2 Tablespoons Salad Supreme seasoning (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Start by bringing a large pot of water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Generously salt your water! Drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, cut the vegetables and cut the cheese into cubes. Slice or cube the salami.
  3. Toss the cooked pasta with the dressing and add the vegetables first and then the meats and cheeses. Sprinkle with Salad Supreme seasoning and pepper. Taste for seasonings and add more Salad supreme or salt, as needed.
  4. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Store pasta salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days.
  • Preparing the salad a day in advance allows flavors to meld as dressing infuses the pasta and ingredients.
