Easy Weeknight Chili

This easy weeknight chili is perfect for lazy Sunday afternoons with the family or for feeding a large crowd coming over to watch football.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 15 ounces canned tomato sauce
  • 15 ounces canned red kidney beans not drained
  • 15 ounces canned pinto beans not drained
  • 15 ounces canned diced tomatoes drained
  • 4 ounces canned diced green chiles not drained
  • ½ green pepper diced
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 ½ tbsp.chili powder
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef and onion. Drain if necessary.
  2. To the pot add all the other ingredients. Bring to a soft boil and then simmer for 30 minutes to an hour.
  3. Serve.
