Garlic and Onion Roast Beef Sandwiches

Garlic and Onion Roast Beef Sandwiches is one of our favorite lunch meals. Tender roast beef with caramelized onions, roasted garlic and a whipped horseradish cream sauce on buttery brioche rolls.

Ingredients

Hot Beef Sandwich

  • 1/4 cup Horseradish cream sauce
  • 1 garlic clove finely minced
  • 2 long French rolls cut in half
  • 1/2 pound deli roast beef thinly cut
  • 2 slices white cheddar
  • 1/4 cup caramelized onions

Au Jus Sauce:

  • 8 ounces beef consomme
  • 2 sprigs fresh Rosemary
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Toast French bread rolls, cut side up. Add white cheddar cheese, melt.
  2. Stir finely minced garlic into Horseradish Cream Sauce, slather onto one side of the brioche for each sandwich.
  3. Divide caramelized onions and roast beef, pile both sandwiches high, top with the other half of the bun and enjoy!
  4. In a small saucepan, combine beef consomme with fresh rosemary. Allow to simmer for 5-10 minutes so the flavor develops. Remove sprig and test for taste. Add pepper, if desired and needed.
  5. Serve hot with a side of au jus sauce.
