Granola Recipe

This baked homemade granola recipe is naturally sweetened with honey and has the perfect amount of crunch. It is completely customizable!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup canola oil
  • 4 cups old fashioned oats
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • coconut flakes, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or coat with cooking spray.
  2. In a saucepan combine the sugar, honey, and oil. Stir over medium heat until sugar has dissolved.
  3. Add oats to a mixing bowl. Pour the honey mixture over the oats. Add cinnamon and salt. Stir everything together until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly over the baking sheet and gently press down.
  5. Bake for 1 hour. Stir the mixture every 15-20 minutes.
  6. Remove and allow the mixture to cool completely in the pan.
  7. Break apart and Enjoy.

Notes

  • Store. Store homemade granola in an airtight container for about 2 weeks at room temperature, or for 2-3 months in the freezer. 
  • You can mix in dried fruits and nuts and eat it as a trail mix.
  • Add it to smoothies, smoothie bowls, oatmeal, or make yogurt parfaits using fresh fruit and regular or Greek yogurt.
