Ground Beef Pasta (Homemade Hamburger Helper Recipe)
Description
Ground Beef Pasta combines ground beef and small chopped onions sautéed with seasoning including salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, oregano, basil, and garlic powder to build a spiced base. Tomato bouillon adds depth. Layered with uncooked pasta shells and marinara sauce, along with beef stock and water, the ingredients cook under pressure in an Instant Pot without stirring, allowing the pasta to absorb flavors and become tender.
Once pressure cooking is complete and the sauce is stirred, heavy cream is folded in to create a smooth sauce coating the pasta and meat. The herbs and spices lend aromatic, balanced flavors while the tomato-based sauce keeps the dish savory and lightly tangy.
This pasta can be served as a main course for casual dinners, and garnished with shaved parmesan and fresh basil if desired.
Layering the ingredients carefully is critical to prevent burning in the Instant Pot, making sure to keep the pasta submerged but without stirring before cooking.
