Ingredients
- 240 ml water 1 cup
- 200 g granulated sugar 1 cup
- 50 g black cocoa powder (or regular unsweetened cocoa powder) ½ cup
To serve
- ice
- Sparkling Water or 7Up/Sprite
- heavy cream double cream
- Whipped Cream
- Candy eyes
Instructions
First, make the black chocolate simple syrup:
- In a saucepan, whisk together the water, sugar, and cocoa powder until well combined in a pan over medium heat.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, transfer the chocolate syrup to a clean, airtight container or bottle. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
For the Halloween chocolate cream soda:
- Fill a glass with ice and top up with sparkling water or Sprite.
- Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of the chocolate simple syrup.
- Drizzle 1 tablespoon of cream into the glass.
- Top with whipped cream and a few candy eyes for Halloween.
