Ingredients
Sandwiches
- 12 square dinner rolls (from bakery as a whole slab), halved through center
- 1 1/2 Tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 1/2 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tsp honey
- 1 lb thin sliced deli ham, such as black forest ham
- 12 oz. swiss cheese, sliced
Topping
- 5 Tbsp Butter, cut into 1 Tbsp pieces
- 1 1/2 tsp poppy seeds
- 1 1/2 tsp sesame seeds (white or black)
- 2 tsp dried minced onion
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place bottom portion of roll halves (still intact as a single slab) into 13 by 9-inch baking dish.
- In a small mixing bowl stir together yellow mustard, dijon mustard, mayonnaise and honey. Spread half of the mixture over bottom roll halves in baking dish and also over the the bottom side of the tops of the rolls halves.
- Layer ham slices over the roll bottoms in the baking dish, folding and overlapping it to fit.
- Top ham with a layer of the Swiss cheese, folding and overlapping to fit slices.
- Cover the cheese with the top halves of the rolls.
- To a microwave safe bowl add butter, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, onion, and garlic powder. Heat in microwave until melted, stir in Worcestershire sauce.
- Generously brush all of the butter mixture over tops of rolls.
- Cover with foil and bake until cheese has nearly melted, about 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 minutes longer. Serve warm.
- Optionally you can garnish with 1 Tbsp finely minced parsley for a pop of fresh color.
