Ingredients
- olive oil for cooking
- ½ medium white onion diced
- 1 Jalapeño seeded, finely diced
- 4 cloves garlic finely minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground oregano dried
- 10-12 taco shells
Options
- 1 avocado mashed with salt and lime juice
- 1 tomato diced
- ½ cup Colby jack cheese or cheese of your choice freshly shredded is best
- 1 cup lettuce shredded
- ½ cup green or red salsa
- 1 bunch fresh cilantro garnish, if desired
- 1 lime cut into wedges for serving
Instructions
- Get out and measure your ingredients.
- Heat the oil over medium heat and add diced onions. Cook until they become translucent. Add the jalapeño and garlic to the pan and cook for another 2 minutes, or until the garlic becomes fragrant.
- Push the veggies to the sides and cook the ground beef in the center and sprinkle in the onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin powder, salt and oregano.
- Stir and cook the beef until browned, then drain off the excess liquid and set aside.
- Lay out all of the fillings and assemble the tacos by adding the ground beef, guacamole, tomato, cheese, lettuce, salsa and cilantro.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges.
- Enjoy every bite!
