Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 4-5 garlic minced (about 1 1/2 tbsp, cloves
  • pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano dried
  • 28 oz. crushed tomatoes canned
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3-4 basil sliced or torn, fresh leaves

Instructions

  1. Add olive oil to a medium sauce pan and saute the garlic for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently so it doesn't burn. Add the red pepper flakes and dried oregano and keep stirring for another minute. Add the canned tomatoes to the pan and turn up the heat so that it starts to bubble. When it does, reduce the heat to simmer and add the salt and fresh basil. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste for needed salt and enjoy!
  2. Can be refrigerated for a couple days or put in the freezer for later.
