This homemade white rice recipe is simple and will teach you how to make your own rice at home! Making rice at home is so easy, this post will cover all the basics you need to know!

Ingredients
- 2 cups white rice short grain
- 3 cups water
- pinch of salt optional
Instructions
- Combine rice, water, and salt in a medium saucepan on the stovetop. Don't mix the rice and water very much (see note).
- Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to simmer and cover.
- Simmer covered for 15-20 minutes, or until the majority of the liquid is absorbed by the rice.
- Let stand 5 minutes.

- For very sticky rice, stir the rice and water before cooking. For minimal stickiness, rinse the rise in a fine mesh strainer before cooking.
