How To Cut A Mango

  • 1 Mango medium

Instructions

  1. Hold your mango upright on a chopping board in such a way that the stem faces upwards. Looking down the mango, you’ll notice there are two halves on either side of the stem.
  2. With a sharp knife slice off the two halves in such a way that you get maximum flesh in them. You can feel the pit with the knife as you are cutting.
  3. Use a paring knife to cut vertical slices, then horizontal slices to form a grid pattern on each half. Ensure that you don’t cut through the skin.
  4. Gently press the underside of the half so that the flesh of the fruit is pushed out.
  5. Now, use a spoon or paring knife to scoop the cubes out from the skin.
  6. For sliced mango, scoop away from the skin after making vertical slices.
