Italian Dressing Recipe
Description
The Italian Dressing Recipe uses a combination of olive oil and red wine vinegar as the base, enhanced with lemon juice and Italian seasoning to add a fragrant herbal note. Garlic powder provides a gentle pungency, while salt and pepper balance the flavors. Optional Parmesan cheese, grated finely to almost a powdery texture, adds a subtle umami richness. Prepared simply by shaking all ingredients in a jar, this vinaigrette stores up to two weeks in the refrigerator, though a note cautions fresh garlic shortens fridge life to one week. Repeated shaking before use ensures the oil and vinegar blend properly. This versatile dressing works well over leafy greens and can also be used for marinating vegetables or meats when desired.
