Ingredients
For Cheese Ball
- 16 ounces (450g) cream cheese softened
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 cup (113g) shredded cheddar cheese additional cup for coating
- 1 Jalapeño chopped
- 2 lices Bacon cooked and chopped (4 slices for cheese ball and coating)
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
For Coating
- 1 cup (113g) shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup (60g) chopped nuts
- 2 green onions chopped
- 2 lices Bacon cooked and chopped
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, chopped jalapeno, 2 slices of chopped bacon, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into a ball and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.
- In a separate bowl, mix the remaining cheddar cheese, chopped nuts, chopped green onions, and remaining chopped bacon.
- Roll the chilled cheeseball in the coating mixture until fully covered.
- Serve with crackers or vegetables.
Notes
- Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to soften, making it easy to mix and ensuring a smooth, creamy texture.
- After shaping the cheese ball, refrigerate it for at least an hour to help it firm up and hold its shape when you roll it in the coating.
- If you prefer nut-free swap them for crushed pretzels, crackers, or even more shredded cheese. You can also add other herbs.
- Let the cheese ball sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving so it's easier to spread and dip.
- Be creative and shape it into a log, the shape of a football, or smaller mini cheese balls for individual servings.
- Storage – Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container or tightly wrapped in plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
