Lavender Latte
Description
To prepare the lavender syrup, dried lavender is briefly boiled in water then allowed to steep to extract flavor, and the mixture is strained. Separately, sugar is dissolved in water heated to create a syrup base, which is combined with the lavender infusion and cooled. The latte blends strong brewed coffee with 2 tablespoons of the syrup. Half and half or milk is warmed in a microwave-safe jar, then shaken vigorously to create foam. This frothy milk is poured over the coffee and syrup mixture, topping the latte. Dried lavender sprigs may garnish the final drink to add a visual touch and mild fragrance. The recipe encourages adjusting syrup, milk, and coffee amounts to suit personal taste.
