Matcha Chia Pudding

This Matcha Chia Pudding blends matcha powder with chia seeds soaked in dairy or non-dairy milk, sweetened with maple syrup and enhanced with vanilla. After whisking together and refrigerating to thicken, the pudding develops a creamy and slightly textured consistency with a subtle earthy flavor from the matcha. It can be customized with various toppings like yogurt, fresh fruit, nuts, or seeds before serving, making it a versatile and nutrient-rich option for breakfast or a snack.

Description

Matcha Chia Pudding combines the delicate bitterness of matcha powder with the gelatinous texture of chia seeds soaked overnight in milk. The pudding uses a sweetener such as maple syrup and a touch of vanilla extract for balance. The simple whisking and refrigeration create a thickened mixture where the chia seeds absorb liquid and develop a soft, tapioca-like consistency. This preparation allows the matcha flavor to infuse evenly, offering a gentle green tea note throughout the creamy pudding.

Once set, the pudding can be topped with ingredients like creamy yogurt, fresh berries, crunchy nuts, or seeds to add layers of texture and flavor. Chia pudding is a convenient choice for those who want a make-ahead, nutrient-dense treat that provides a unique twist on traditional breakfast dishes or snacks with the inclusion of matcha.
