This copycat Olive Garden meatballs recipe has all the flavor of our favorite meatballs inside tender, juicy, perfectly cooked meatballs.

Ingredients

Servings

Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 2 large egg
  • 2 tablespoon parmesan grated
  • 2 teaspoon garlic minced
  • ¾ cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon parsley chopped, fresh

Pasta Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon red wine
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes

Garnish

  • parsley chopped, fresh
  • parmesan shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Meatballs

  1. Using a good sized mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the meatballs. Mix until totally blended.
  2. Preheat a skillet on your stovetop over medium high heat.
  3. Scoop meatball mixture into ¼ cup portions.. Roll each in the palms of your hands to form into a tight ball.
  4. Next, place meatballs in hot skillet ad sear for 3 minutes, stirring or turning meatballs as they sear.
  5. Place skillet into oven on the center rack and bake for 15 minutes.

Pasta Sauce

  1. Place a saucepan over medium heat. Add olive oil and swirl to coat pan. Next, add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the tomato paste and stir for 2 minutes. Add wine and deglaze pan and allow the wine to start to reduce, another 2 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce and stir unti blended. Cover and reduce heat to low.
  2. Remove meatballs from the oven and drain any drippings in the pan.
  3. Add 2-3 ladles of sauce to the pan and stir until meatballs are coated.
  4. Add remaining sauce to meatballs, if desired, serve seperately or with spaghetti or your favorite pasta.
  5. Garnish with fresh grated or shredded parmesan and some chopped parsley, Emjoy every bite!
