Muesli Recipe

This muesli recipe combines rolled oats, hemp hearts, ground flax seeds, almonds, raisins, and coconut flakes into a versatile dry mix. The blend offers a balance of textures from chewy dried fruit to crunchy nuts and seeds, suitable for mixing with milk or yogurt. Storing it refrigerated preserves freshness for longer periods.

Description

The Muesli Recipe blends rolled oats with hemp hearts, ground flax seeds, sliced almonds, raisins, and coconut flakes to offer a wholesome, textured breakfast base. The combination of these ingredients yields a nutrient-dense mix that brings chewiness from raisins and coconut flakes, crunch from almonds, and nuttiness from the seeds.

This mixture is not cooked but assembled dry, making it convenient to store. Serving suggestions include topping the muesli with yogurt or milk, accompanied by fresh fruit, such as diced apples to add juiciness and crispness.

To store, keep the muesli in a sealed glass jar in the fridge or pantry. It can last up to a week at room temperature, though refrigeration extends shelf life significantly, especially when making larger batches.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 cups rolled oats certified gluten-free, if needed, old-fashioned
  • ½ cup hemp hearts
  • ¼ cup flax seeds ground
  • ½ cup almonds sliced
  • ½ cup raisins
  • ½ cup coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the oats, hemp hearts, ground flax seeds, almonds, raisins, and coconut flakes. (Add in any other mix-ins you love, too.) Stir well to combine.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a large glass jar with a lid, and store it in the fridge or pantry until you're ready to use it. It can be kept at room temperature for up to 1 week, but the fridge will make it last much longer if you'd like to double or triple the recipe.
  3. When you're ready to serve, scoop ½ to ¾ cup of the mixture into a bowl, and serve it with yogurt or milk, along with fresh fruit on top. (I highly recommend adding diced apple on top for some crunch!)

Notes

  • Store the muesli mix in a sealed jar in the fridge to maintain freshness longer.
  • Add fresh fruit like diced apples when serving for added texture and flavor.
  • Nutrition info applies to ½ cup serving without any toppings.
