Old Fashioned Sloppy Joes Recipe

This old fashioned sloppy joes recipe combines the sweet and savory flavors of sloppy joes with rich, buttery biscuits for an easy 20 minute dinner.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 pound ground beef
- 1 cup onion diced
- 1 green pepper diced
- 2 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 tube refrigerated biscuits (8 count)

Instructions
- Heat the oven to 375°.
- In a large oven safe skillet, heat the oil and cook the beef, onion, green pepper and garlic until the meat is no longer pink.
- Stir the ketchup, water, brown sugar, tomato paste, worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and chili powder, then add to the meat.
- Simmer for 1 minute, then top with the biscuits.
- Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes, then top with tinfoil and continue baking for 5 minutes or until the biscuits are baked through.
- Remove and serve immediately.

- Storage:Before baking, you can store the sloppy joes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Before serving, top with biscuits and bake.Sloppy Joe’s can be frozen before adding the biscuits.
